A relaxing nonogram game - from concept to Google Play
The Challenge
As an interactive agency with roots in game development (Viking Potatoes actually started as a gamedev studio), we wanted to go back to our origins and build a mobile product that would showcase our skills, open a new niche of marketing games in our offer, and be genuinely useful on its own terms.
The Solution
We chose nonograms (Japanese logic puzzles) as the genre - they combine simplicity with a satisfying solving mechanic. We went for relaxation and zero ads as our key differentiator.

Key Design Decisions
- Zero ads - the game is meant to build our brand, not generate ad revenue. That makes it ideal for kids and adults alike.
- 4 difficulty levels - from 5x5 (kids, beginners) to 20x20 (advanced). Hundreds of carefully designed puzzles.
- Motivational quotes - after completing each puzzle, the player gets an inspiring quote. A small habit-building hook.
- Dark mode - automatic dark mode for eye comfort. Play before bed without straining your eyes.
