Sometimes project communication drags on forever - we're waiting for materials because the department responsible is on vacation, the client isn't sure what to prepare or how. Sometimes it's even the case that literally no one in the company can prepare the materials needed for implementation.

How do we handle this?

From the very first conversations I strongly emphasize what might be useful and encourage getting into a "project thinking" mindset. In the early stage of discussions I identify which areas might be too much of a logistical or substantive burden for the client - and I usually take those on myself or assign them to team members.

Key principle: better to launch than to wait

I constantly remind clients that our actions should bring real money into the business - actual revenue. Often it's better to substitute something and launch faster than to wait endlessly for some external obstacle to disappear.
